The Bourne Supremacy (2004)
Director: Paul Greengrass
Cast: Matt Damon, Joan Allen, Brian Cox, Karl Urban
Synopsis: Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) is trying to live a quiet and peaceful life with Marie until he spots an operative (Karl Urban) following him in the town he is staying. During the chase Marie is killed and Bourne goes on the offensive. Earlier in Germany the C.I.A. had an operation that would have brought important evidence to light but it is interrupted and the agents are killed. They lift prints afterwords and find a match Jason Bourne. After Bourne finds this out he realizes he has been framed and he looks to find the answers from CIA officials Pam Landy (Joan Allen) and Ward Abbott (Brian Cox).
Trivia: Unlike the James Bond franchise, all the devices that Bourne uses are real and can be purchased by the average citizen. When Bourne calls Pamela Landy from the rooftop, a voice is heard in her office saying that they “need 90 seconds to triangulate his position”. Bourne disconnects the call exactly 88 seconds later.
Why I think you should see this: This is the first Bourne movie directed by Paul Greengrass and it is the perfect companion piece to the first installment. Matt Damon is spot on again as amnesiac secret agent Jason Bourne and Brian Cox does as fine job as the government official calling the shots from a desk. These films never cease to amaze me because they keep getting better with each film.
